The Lost Boys is an 80s cult film. I'm surprised it hasn't had a come-back with all the latest vampire craze. And it's filmed in Santa Cruz! It's cheesy of course, but I really loved it. There are some sexy vampires in it too ;)
It stars Kiefer Sutherland and Corey Haim, who coincidentally died the day I watched it.. weird.
What side of the bed do you sleep on? And why does it matter? Why do we feel that extreme discomfort when we are forced to sleep on the "wrong" side of the bed? Is it possessiveness or just force of habit?
Next to wall. Close to the door. In the middle. So many choices but we need to stick to one. They say that the man usually sleeps closest to the door, but this isn't always the case. Does it say something about his personality if he makes the girl in the "protector's" position?
A few silly questions to think about.
Here are some funky pillows since we are in the discussion of sleep:
So far, I have had 2 acupuncture sessions at the Five Branches Clinic. You get an incredible deal there because the people practicing on you are students and you are their guinea pigs, but I would have never known that Antonio (my acupuncturist) was a beginner. He is amazing. I've had needles in my ears, my head, my wrists, my ankles, my stomach, my chest, and my back. People usually ask me if it hurts... Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. There is always a slight half a second prick when it goes in, but nothing not tolerable. I highly recommend it.
My Herbal Tea (probably the worst tasting thing I have ever had to ingest)
My house mate Julia thought it looked like a Witch's potion :D
Antonio also put a glass bulb on my back where he lights the center so that it sucks all the air out when it reaches your skin to create a strong hold pulling out toxins from your body. Afterward, you have a purple oval mark on your back. It feels really good though.
I come out of every session all loopy and in a great mood!
We can remember swimming in December, Heading for the city lights, in 1975 We share in each other Nearer than father The scent of a lemon, drips from your eyes
We are the people that rule the world A force running in every boy and girl All rejoicing in the world Take me now We can try
We lived an adventure Love in the Summer Followed the sun till night Reminiscing other times of life For each every other The feeling was stronger The shock hit eleven Got lost in your eyes
I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave me, but I know I try Are you gonna leave me now Can’t you be believing now (repeat)
Can you remember and humanize, It was still where we’d energized, Lie in the sand and visualize like its 75 again
We are the people that rule the world A force running in every boy and girl All rejoicing in the world Take me now We can try
I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave me, but I know I try Are you gonna leave me now Can’t you be believing now (repeat)
I know everything about you You know everything about me Know everything about us (repeat)
I can’t do well when I think you’re gonna leave me, but I know I try Are you gonna leave me now Can’t you be believing now
Friday night, I drove up to see Alice in Wonderland in San Francisco. I can't deny that it was beautiful and all the actors did a great job. Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp never let you down. And newbie Mia Wasikowska (Alice) was exquisitely charming. Anne Hathaway was an odd choice and had an odd role. I would just have to say that the movie was somewhat anti-climatic and lacked suspense... This may be because it is originally aimed towards children, but I think that Aladdin kept me more on edge. Go see it regardless. Tim Burton is an aesthetic genius.
The next day was a day well spent in the Mission. We started with brunch at Mission Beach Cafe (198 Guerrero Street), where I had some incredible eggs benedict and a delicious mimosa. The menu was blowing my mind away. Everything was tempting me. I had to ask the waiter to basically choose for me! I highly recommend this place. The setting is relaxed but in good taste.
Other good places to eat in the mission: Yamo and Bi Rite Market
We then stumbled upon this supposed famous alleyway with some incredible art: A lot of pro-women art... My favorite (above)
The next day I headed up to Santa Rosa. The drive up was beautiful and lush. The drive back to Santa Cruz was traffic-filled and ugly.
Santa Rosa Snap Shots: Soapy Fountain... The bum could bathe in it :)
This is so entertaining, even though you can get some SERIOUS creepers. I think it's super interesting to see all the different people. I came across a DJ in Amsterdam that was playing some sick beats and then started dancing by himself! Hahah Brace yourself for some male genitalia though... at least you can just press Next!
I love this movie. I find it a lot better than Paris, Je t'aime. It's so romantic and well done. If you have netflix, you can watch instantly on your computer.
